JFB Myofascial Release (MFR)
Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.
Essential to MFR is the “time element”, fascia (connective tissue that runs through out the whole body) doesn't start to release for 90-120 seconds so, a low load (gentle pressure), applied slowly will rehydrate the fascia allowing it to elongate reducing dysfunction.
Positional Release Therapy (PRT)
Osteopathic positional release therapy (PRT) is a gentle manual treatment used to reduce muscle pain and spasms, and it resets muscle tone and enhances circulation.
The value and importance of positional release methods lies in their non-invasive and gentle nature, their ease of application, and their potential for instant response in cases of acute spasm and pain. They also allow chronically tense tissues to relax and can be used as part of integrated therapeutic interventions that employ other soft tissue and joint normalization procedures.
Mobilization
With mobilization, the use of manual techniques that focuses on Myofascial trigger points, or "knots" that develop from overuse or strain deep in muscle tissues. Specifically, to release adhesion's, which are rigid bands of tissue that can cause pain, chronic tension and restrict motion. Techniques that may used include: grabbing or rolling the muscles, gliding strokes (with out the use of creams or lotions) that use the entire surface of the hand, fingers, elbows and forearms; friction in which the superficial surfaces are moved over deeper tissue. As with any modality mobilization is performed according to a patient's tolerance.
